Sheryl Rodgers has been a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department since 1997, where she currently serves as a Lieutenant assigned to the Suppression Division.
Sheryl has an A.S. in Emergency Management and has also worked as a Fire Instructor II and Live Fire Training Instructor for the past 16 years.
Since surviving her battle with occupational breast cancer in 2013, Sheryl has become extremely passionate about the health and safety of the fire service.
Sheryl was appointed as the Chairperson of the JFRD FACE (Firefighters Attacking the Cancer Epidemic) Team in 2018 and has used this role to educate the over 1500 members of her department on their risks of occupational cancer as well as current best practices to reduce these risks.
As the new Northeast Florida Regional Coordinator of FFSHC, Sheryl is excited to work together with surrounding departments, medical personnel, and industry leaders to effect positive change in the areas of firefighter health, wellness, and safety.
