Milton Smith is a retired Fire Lieutenant whose career in emergency services spans several decades. He worked at Palm Harbor Fire Rescue for nearly 28 years. He has worked at Pasco County Fire Rescue and was a volunteer with the City of Port Richey Fire Department. He also worked for the City of Port Richey Police Department and the former Tarpon Springs Memorial Ambulance Service. He has been a first responder for more than 42 years.
Milton is a licensed and ordained minister endorsed by the First South Florida Missionary Baptist District Association. He served as associate minister for 12 years and Senior Pastor for 28 years at the Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church in Tarpon Springs.
He is certified in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), Firefighter Suicide Prevention Instructor, Peer Support, Mental Health First Aid Instructor and Pastoral Crisis Intervention Care. He also maintains his fire service certifications to include Designated Florida Lifetime Firefighter, Municipal Fire Safety Inspector, Fire Investigator II and Fire Instructor I. He has an Associates of Science Degree in Fire Science Technology from St. Petersburg College.
Milton is currently chaplain for Palm Harbor Fire Rescue, Tarpon Springs Fire Rescue, Oldsmar Fire Rescue and Clearwater Fire & Rescue. He a 20-year member of the Federation of Fire Chaplains.
He is also founder and president of All First Responders Matter (AFRM) Foundation Organization. AFRM is a non-profit 501(c)(3) outreach to first responders in Florida, North Carolina and Illinois.
He is married to Lineta Smart. He has two daughters, a stepson, a granddaughter and a grandson.
