Gina Hudson started her career as a firefighter/paramedic in 1998 with the City of Miramar Fire Rescue. Over her 22-year career, on top of her FF/PM duties, Gina also held positions in community education and in community outreach as well as public information officer. Gina also acted as an advisor with the high school cadet program and was co-chair for the department benevolent.

Gina first became involved with the Florida Firefighter Health and Safety Collaborative when her husband, Captain Richard Hudson, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She Initially contacted the collaborative for assistance but quickly found a place within the FACE (Firefighters Attacking the Cancer Epidemic) Team.

Gina also works with Sylvester’s Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Firefighter Cancer Initiative where she does outreach throughout the state of Florida to inform and enroll firefighters in the multiple ongoing studies that the FCI is conducting to help eliminate cancer in the fire service. Gina is a welcome addition to the FACE Team and serves as the co-chair along with Sam Eaton.
